I play both the violin and the viola and have been teaching for about 25 years. Lessons plans are individually tailored to the needs of each student. So if you are just a beginner or you want to improve your current playing, contact me!
Online Support
Students have access to me between lessons through Edmodo. This is a safe, online learning platform is used by both private and public schools throughout the world. Using this simple site, I can send recordings, podcasts and give advice. Likewise, students can send me questions or recordings of their own.

Being able to analyze and talk or write about music with confidence is an important skill. Music theory is a great way of improving students' understanding of music and their playing. Come and join one of my small groups and try 'flipped' lessons!
ExamsI have a successful track record of students in exams for the Australian Music Examinations Board (AMEB). Do all my students do exams? Only if they want to! It depends on what you might want to achieve with your music.

What I value most about Rosalie is that, as a teacher, she really understands how my daughter learns and tailors lessons to build her confidence, support her love of music, as well as develop her technical skills. Rosalie is a highly qualified musician and, most importantly, a dedicated teacher.

My teaching philosophy
After some twenty five years as a music teacher I have come to realize certain things. I don't teach music. Music is just a subject. I teach people and, to do that the best way I can, means putting my student's needs first. My job is to instill my passion for music in other people, young or old. To do that I call on a lot of different skills. I bring a great deal of experience to the table. I am also very well educated in music and analytical in my approach.

But the most important thing you need to know about me as a teacher is that I CARE. To me, there is no difference between my littlest beginner or students wanting to go to University. Both matter to me.
So, if I sound like the kind of teacher you would like to have for yourself, or your child, feel free to contact me. If I can't help you, I will try my best to find someone who can! |
